 Basa Pitbulls
 W 3-2

Report:

"Ok friends, we know you want to go out and party, but we're gonna have to end the night early cause we've got a soccer game tomorrow morning. yes i know it's unfair and the league shouldn't schedule games for us on pride, but we just gotta suck it up and do this."

That's what everyone said. Except Karl. Cause at 6pm Karl was already in bed. Just kidding. But not really.

Fast forward 12 hours. Everyone wakes up, not hung over, but energized and ready to go out and get a victory. We were matched against a Basa Pitbulls team that had beaten us 6-2 in the first match of the season, but we knew we were much improved since then.

Winners: Toche, Travis, B.Cox, Milessss, Alan, Togni, British Marc, Lesbian 1 (Thang), Lesbian 2 (Chris), Alex, Berger, Norwegian, Just David, White Trash Kris, B.Huber, Steve, Izzy

In the first half, the Spikes ran up and down the field with a lot of intensity, but also a lot of nerves. Wanting to continue upon the outstanding performance in DC and knowing we had a chance to win caused us to get off of our game a bit. After about 10 minutes we settled into our game and put together many chances. About 15 in, Brain Huber ran down the right side and sent a cross in to the center of the box, where Izzy positioned himself perfectly to put the ball in. However, the linesman seemed to have an affinity for raising his flag for offsides, and this along with many other opportunities were called back. In addition, we were called for a number of fouls in our defensive end, and Basa was able to capitalize on 2 chances, making the score 2-0 at halftime.

The second half was a different story. The Spikes dominated this half, creating many opportunities on goal. With about 20 minutes left, Brian Huber, fired up after a soft call, ran a ball up the middle and placed it perfectly in the bottom left corner to make the score 2-1. Then, with about 10 minutes left, another ball was placed in the middle of Basa's box, and in the ensuing scramble , the ball was pushed into the net from a Basa player to make the score 2-2. And then AGAIN, minutes later, Izzy was given a great pass by Karl that gave him a breakaway opportunity, which he capitalized on making the score 3-2. Our defense held strong, and as the whistle blew, history was made.

Congrats go to everyone who has ever supported the Spikes in this lengthy quest to victory. As Harvey said, this victory is not just ours, but yours to share as well.
