It was a tough battle from the get go, as the younger and leaner opposition was able to move the ball around quickly and maintain possession. Although we had a quick goal scored against us in the first few minutes of the half, our defense quickly learned to allow more space between themselves and their man and our midfield stepped up their intensity to challenge the ball in the midfield. Special kudos goes to Carlo, who refused to let his fellow paesani get the best of his team, and used his body and his legs to hold off some prime opportunities for the SFIAC. With about 5 minutes to go in the first half, the score was 1-0 when the Italians were able to sneak a ball into the net to make the score 2-0 going into halftime.

In the second half, SFIAC continued its pressure and momentum. Although we were able to send a few good runs down the line, the Italians held strong and continued to put pressure on every ball. We managed to hold the final score to a 5-0 loss, an impressive score considering the SFIAC is currently 2nd in our league. A tough battle, and a good showing. Thanks to Chris F, Patrick J, and the best damn fag hag in the world, my rooommate Jamie, who all came out to support our team.
