Report:	Game number 5 for the year ended in a 2-3 loss to the second placed team Marin United. On a great warm day in Marin our guys played their best game of the year. The Spikes was the best team in the first half, and took a deserved lead midway into the half, when Gils nice cross was headed in by Barry. Great combination! Unfortunately Marin United tied almost immediately. Our guys kept on producing chances, and when we were given a penalty kick 10 min. the end of the half, Barry scored on the penalty kick and gave us a deserved 2-1 lead into halftime. Second half was a different story. Our guys played well, but Marin United was obviously in better shape than our guys, and at times, dominated the half. John had a good game in goal again, but had to see Marin U. find the net behind him twice before the half was over. Final score 3-2 to Marin United. This was definitely a step in the right direction for our team and hopefully a sign of better play and results to come in the next weeks. Good job everyone.
