Pikers
W 2-0
Report:We had a 4pm game in Marin yesterday against the
Pikers.

We played a great first half and totally dominated the
game. We had possession of the ball for most of the
half, passed the ball within the team and produces
several chances. Our guys never let the Pikers settle
with the ball, and won almost every 50-50 challenges.
The only chance I remember they had in the first half
came from one of our guys. Nurse Betty did her best to
keep Matthew awake with a nice shot just outside his
post. Horrible!

We got a great start when we got the first goal after
only 5. minutes of the half. Gil’s nice pass was
chested down by Chuck, and he finished it off with a
great shot that went into the lower corner behind
their goalie. We continued to put pressure on their
defense and had several chances in increase the score,
but had to wait until 5 minutes before halftime before
we got our second. Thorsten played a nice pass through
the middle to Brian B. who put the ball behind their
goalie, to give our guys a deserved 2-0 lead into
halftime.

We continued to play good soccer in the second half.
We let the Pikers into the game a bit more, (blame it
on the heat), but our defense was rock solid, and
never let them get close to Matthew in our goal. We
had several chances to increase our lead throughout
the half, and came really close when York hit their
crossbar midway through the half. We also missed a
penalty at the end of the game, so the Pikers should
feel lucky to get away with two goals. Final score:
2-0 to the Spikes.

Welcome to Ian Keate that played his first Marin
League game for us, and it was good to see a lot of
our injured players back on the field again. Well

Our 15 players were: Adel, Bob, Brian B., Chuck, Ed,
